Office Routing Plus Features:
- All the routing features of 2003 plus more
- Works in Word and Excel
- Add-In works in Office 2003 and Office 2007/2010 - route documents going both ways. This is especially useful if your organization has many computers using the Office 2003 routing feature and the IT Office needs to transition to 2007/2010 gradually, leaving your environment in mixed versions of Office for a period of time. Learn more about routing documents between Office 2003 and Office 2007/2010.
- Create a list of recipients to route a document to and save this list of recipients for one-click retrieval for this document (or any other documents) later!
- Pulls recipients from your organization from either the Outlook Global Address List (displays all users in your Outlook Address Book), or from Active Directory. If your organization chooses to pull from Active Directory, you may customize the recipients that users can route to with the routing add-in. Learn more about Routing with Active Directory.
- Better looking graphical user interface (GUI) than the 2003 routing mechanism. The three columns in the grid clearly indicate who has received this document, who it was last sent from, when the document was sent (see screenshot above), as well as who it needs to go to next.
- Retains the "return when done" option from the classic 2003 Office routing mechanism, which sends the finalized document (with any changes) back to the routing initiator. Office Routing Plus also allows the routing initiator to optionally receive the updated document after each user routes it, rather than just at the end of the routing life cycle.
- Also retains the "track status" option
- Reset and Delete Routing Slip options
- Displays a message that says this document has a routing slip when you close Excel or Word if the document has not already been routed to the next recipient.
- Visual status label box at top clearly shows status of document
- Option to have documents sent via outlook client running on machine or through a relay server if outlook is not running on your client
- Written in "managed code" (utilizing .net 3.5 framework), meaning this program is more robust than many add-ins.
- Mature application, which has been deployed to multiple environments
